Couldn't tell from the reviews if this would be worth it, but happy for the experience. We had the black pork cheeks (off menu) and the Portugese steak and they tasted good. All served with bread and olives and you get a salad and fries with it. What completed the experience were the friendly owners and laid back atmosphere.

A great place to discover the flavours of the traditional Portuguese food. They are top notch when it comes to the ingredients and meat, only fresh meat and natural grown vegetables makes the flavour more intense and delicious. Highly recommended with an amazing environment in Monchique - Algarve

I brought a group of friends there for dinner, all visiting from Scotland and we loved it so much we went back the day after. The lovely people who have taken over have brought a whole new energy to the place. They clearly love what they do. We were treated simultaneously like royalty and family. The food was cooked with love and local tradition as well as high quality, local ingredients. Whenever I bring friends over to monchique, this is the restaurant they will be taken to so that they can experience the friendly and warm nature that is Monchique.- Comida

The four of us had lunch here. Lamb, salmon and bacalhau. All were delicious. It’s clearly a family operation that cares about the quality of the food.

New ownership, it's open. Unassuming, clean and we'll organized restaurant, great service. Delicious food, local dishes, local and visiting clientele. Definitely a great place to eat well and spend a good time amongst Portuguese families.

Service was prompt, kind and friendly. My "glass of house white wine please" was a generous small carafe for one of delicious sparkling wine. All was 31€. Excellent value. Worth seeking out. Only got drinks here but decided to come back on a Tuesday as the meals looked lovely. We checked the website and it showed it closed on Monday but unfortunately after driving from Alvor on Tuesday we found them closed. Next time we will definitely phone first!!

Local cuisine, high quality of the products, very kind and lovely. The bacalao (codfish) is so tasty and cooked in clay dish. Lots of self made sweets with love. Incredible!

We were a table of five including one teenager, one vegan person and a mix between Portuguese and British. We had such a good time. The staff was brilliant! The food was great and they even made an effort to accommodate a vegan eater which isn’t easy! Truly recommend it! We will be back
